If your school is considering purchasing iPads, please use this guide to ensure it is the correct device for your situation. This is a living document, and will be updated as new information is available. Single iPad Purchases

If you are considering ordering the iPad, but not enough for a mobile lab, we recommend you purchase the following:
  • 16 GB iPad 2 Wi-Fi
  • iPad Camera Connection Kit
  • Apple VGA Adaptor for iPad
  • Volume Purchasing Program (VPP) Vouchers to purchases Apps (click here to see how to set up your school's VPP account. Each school should only have 1 VPP account)
  • Protective Case

Mobile Lab Ordering Information

If you are considering ordering a mobile lab, you are required to purchase a Bretford PowerSync Cart and a Wireless Networking Bundle. We recommend the following (required components are bolded and in red):
  • Apple iPad Learning Lab with AppleCare (includes Bretford Sync Cart and 10-16 GB iPad 2's)
  • 16 GB iPad 2 10-Pack (1 or 2 depending on how many you want for your mobile lab)
  • 13" MacBook Pro Laptop Computer with AppleCare (Required if you do not have a current Mac Computer to sync.)
  • iPad Camera Connection Kit
  • Apple VGA Adaptor for iPad
  • VPP Vouchers to purchases Apps (click here to see how to set up your school's VPP account. Each school should only have 1 VPP account)
  • Wireless Networking Bundle (Please contact Dick Hardman in Purchasing at 434-8209 for pricing.)
  • Brenthaven Trek Hardshell Folio cover (not sold through Apple Inc.)

Device Tracking

All iPads must be catalogued through the Library Media Specialist in Destiny. Please visit this wiki page for directions on how to add the iPad to Destiny.

Networking

Once your devices arrive, they should be placed on the SDPBC Wireless Network. To put it on the SDPBC Network, go to this site from the iPad and install the profile from there. You must be located on SDPBC property and login with your district credentials.

Applications (Apps)

You must set up a Volume Purchasing Program for your school in order to purchase paid apps for the iPad. Please visit this site to see how to set up your VPP account.
